BFSC SPRING SKATING MAY-JUNE

Spring skating runs from May 13 to June 25.

Registration for spring skating opens online at our registration link at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 5th.

CANSKATE PROGRAMMING

• Canskate is for children 3yrs and up.
• 50 minute learn to skate program for children with some experience OR no prior experience.
• Skaters of different skill levels & ages may still skate on the same Canskate session.
• All new skaters for the 2024-25 season will be charged an additional mandatory Skate Canada fee of $61.70 upon checkout.

SKATING FUNDAMENTALS FOR HOCKEY AND RINGETTE

• THIS IS NOT A LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM.
• Skaters must be able to skate the full length of the ice forward and backward, be able to stop & get up from the ice unassisted.
• All new skaters for the 2024-25 season will be charged an additional mandatory Skate Canada fee of $61.70 upon checkout.

STARSKATE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

• Junior – MUST have Passed a minimum of Stage 4 and have been invited
• Intermediate A – All three Star 1 Assessments – Freeskate Elements, Dance Elements and Skills and have a private coach.
• Intermediate B – All Star 2 tests PLUS two of the following: Star 3 Skills, Star 3 Dance (Baby Blues and Star 3 Dance Elements) and or Star 3 Freeskate (Elements & Program) and have a private coach.
• Senior – All Star 3 tests, PLUS two of the following: Star 4 Skills, Star 4 Dance (Swing & Fiesta) and/or Star 4 Freeskate (Elements and Program) & must have a private coach.

Skating Locations and Exception Days:

• All skating will take place at South Courtice Arena. Most sessions will be held on Pad B. Please check the video boards for the rink location when you enter the arena.
• May 19 no skating sessions on the Victoria Day holiday
• June 26 no regular skating sessions. Rink being used for test day.
