Fundraising Announcement

Dear BFSC Parents/Members;

Starting January 30th, 2012, Bowmanville Figure Skating Club will launch a Little Caesar’s Fundraiser to raise funds for skater development and our 2012 Carnival coming up in March.

Our sales period will be from Monday January 30th to Monday February 13th, 2012. Two week selling period!

Each member will receive an order form to keep track of customers, orders and payments. Please collect payment at time of order.

All orders to be turned in no later than Friday February 17th, 2012. Orders and money can be given to Caroline MacKeen.

NO LATE ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED. CASH ONLY, PLEASE.

Our delivery date is Friday March 2nd, 2012. Order can be picked up at South Courtice Arena between 6:00pm – 8pm. If you cannot attend, please make arrangements with another skater as we will not be able to store any kits after delivery.

We expect that this Little Caesar’s Fundraiser will be a great success!

Our target is 400 kits to reach our profit goal of $2000.00 for new equipment, planning for Carnival etc. With your support we can make this our most profitable fundraiser yet!

BFSC Executive

The results are in. The 2012 Canadian Figure Skating Championships were held in Moncton, NB.

Mackenzie Bent and our own Garrett Mackenzie came in fourth of 15 teams in the Junior Dance. They were .27 of a point behind the third place team of Noa Bruser (BC) / Timothy Lum (YT) with a final score or 125.57. Final results

Another important thing to note is that one of the coaches that helps out on occasion, Asher Hill, also came in fourth with his partner Kharis Ralph in the Senior Dance category. Asher was competing with the likes of Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir (1st), Kaitlyn Weaver & Andrew Poje (2nd), Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier (3rd). Final Results

Congratulations goes out to all of the competitors that were involved this weekend. It is an incredible accomplishment to get to this level.

It is that time again to be a ‘Celebrity Server’ at Boston Pizza (Bowmanville).

We have 2 dates that are booked for BSFC:

(Both dates are Monday nights)

February 6, 2012 – 5pm – 8pm

March 26, 2012 – 5pm – 8pm

We are looking for 5 – 10 skaters (for each night) that are interested in being a part of the Boston Pizza serving team for the evening.  (First come, first server so get you name in quick.)

This event is open to Level 2, Level 3 and Competitive Skaters only.

Please note:  There will be 2 members of the BFSC Executive at Boston Pizza during event to monitor the kids.

We have started an email mailing list for important information updates.  Most names have been added to the list from the club registration forms.  We have sent out a couple of messages now using the system.  If you haven't seen one of the messages please check the spam or junk mail folders in your particular email client or provider.  If you haven't seen one of the two messages and there is nothing in your spam folders you can signup for the mailing list.  A signup form has been added as a link in the left side navigation menu.

We haves new fundraiser initiative we are undertaking. We will be selling Little Caesers pizza kits. Check out the flyer for additional information regarding cost and the available menu. The fundraiser will start January 29th.

The final order needs to be submitted by noon on Feb 24th. The delivery is currently scheduled for Friday March 2nd at South Courtice 5pm. Pick up between 6-8pm.

The Bowmanville Figure Skating Club will be presenting the 2012 Spring Gala on Saturday March 31, 2012.

In order for the 2012 Spring Gala to be a success we need volunteers and hope we can count on your support.  The more volunteers that are willing to help mean the more successful and enjoyable the Gala will be for the skaters.
